For the control of oil, paraffin or solvent spillages, CAPTOR is “environmentally-friendly” in itself.
Unlike clay granules or peat, (which are both obtained from non-renewable resources), CAPTOR is a by-product of the processing of sustainably managed softwood forests. This material is carefully graded and then treated with non-toxic salts to make it “fire-suppressed” before it is packed as CAPTOR - a truly eco-friendly absorbent.
The nature of the spilt material being absorbed will affect how any absorbent is used, and with CAPTOR you can guarantee that the absorbent itself is not an environmental nuisance or a drain on increasingly scarce resources.
Sustainable Resource:
Obtained from managed forests, use of this product does not lead to quarrying or peat-stripping operations which cause major change to local environments.
Biodegradable:
If the absorbed spill permits, used product may be composted or land-filled.
Totally Organic:
If the absorbed spill permits, used product may be incinerated - useful in waste-to-heat plants and other such situations.
Low Density:
Lots of absorbent volume, without being difficult to carry – helps with your requirements under the Manual Handling Regulations
Simply sprinkle around and over the spilt material. Brush in with a yard broom to ensure all of the spill is absorbed – add more product if required – then sweep up and place in buckets or strong plastic bags ready for suitable disposal.
N.B – remember that the nature of the spilt material is what will classify your absorbed material as special Waste.
Packed in 8kg bags, equivalent to about 22 to 23 litres of absorbent product.
